As of this morning, we have officially smashed my original fundraising target goal of £30,000. Honestly when i started this i never expected to reach that amount. It was an aspirational number that would allow us to purchase two new adapted boats. These boats would enable us to maintain the current sailing we can offer as well potentially in the future increase the number of sailors we can support.
Seeing as I'm not home yet I have decided to increase the target to £50,000. This would enable us to purchase additional equipment such as servo assisted steering for out sailors with more complex disabilities as well as a trailer which would enable us to take boats to different events around the country. Any additional money will be put towards our Sailability even if I'm not 100% sure what it will be spent on yet.
Thank you for all your support so far. This may be a solo sail but I couldn't do this alone. Together we are making what seemed an insane dream a reality.
I'm also very glad to be back on the move again and making forward progress. I am currently aiming for the Scilly Isles before heading over to Ireland and hopefully seeing the infamous Fastnet Rock.
